The construction of a new water tank, to replace the old one which has not been used since the end of December, means that residents in Es Migjorn Gran should once again enjoy drinking water on tap tomorrow.

A combination of heavy rain in December, which led to dirty water in the aquifers giving the water a reddish tone, and a breakdown in the chlorination system, which resulted in the supply being over-chlorinated, meant that many residents have had to rely on bottled water for drinking for the last few months, although the tap water was suitable for other purposes, such as washing.
