The Menorca Charity Players performed their latest show "September Follies" at the Es Castell Town Hall on Friday and Saturday nights to a packed seating area of over 100 on each night. The show seemed to be recession-proof by taking over 2,900 euros for local charities. One of the cultural donations will be to the Illa del Rei restoration fund.

The show was acclaimed as one of the best the club have ever performed, one of the highlights being the inclusion of the boys and girls from Club Vidalba who performed three superb song and dance routines from their earlier production of "Grease". Their President, Gabriel Carreras Albiol, also made a massive contribution to the show by devising and operating all the computer-generated backdrops and credits, adding a truly professional look and enriching the overall presentation.

One of our younger members, Amiana, who is only thirteen sang a heart-rendering version of Andrea Bocilli's "Time to Say Goodbye". The children also performed a dance routine that they had choreographed themselves. Add to that the stunning dance numbers at the end of each half of the show and the audience left having had a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining evening.

The winter show is to be discussed this coming week and will be announced in the near future.
