The first fan staked his place in the queue outside la Caixa bank in the centre of Maó at 2.30 p.m. last Tuesday afternoon. The queue stretched three and four abreast as far as Mango. At 4.30 p.m. with "British punctuality", the doors opened to allow the fans, many wearing the shirts of their heroes, to be photographed in groups with their hands on the trophy.

Later the cup progressed to the Consell Insular building where it took centrestage at a meeting of Menorca's governing body for football. Prior to Menorca the cup had been to Mallorca and Eivissa.
