Friday 17th September saw the Menorca Bowling Club welcome the now usual influx of visitors from the U.K, brought by Personal Touch Holidays, staying at the San Luis Hotel S'Algar for a bowling holiday.

More than 30 bowlers from the Chelmsford area of Essex came the first week and were well beaten.

A group from Cheshunt in Hertfordshire proved to be very serious competitors, but the quality of the Menorcan players shone through once more to win by 79 shots to 61. The club was preserving its unbeaten run against touring teams in spectacular fashion.

The Calne Bowling Club from Wiltshire provided the new opposition on Saturday 26th, and with Menorca and P.T.H.providing a combined team, Calne were defeated by over 50 shots.

Saturday 2nd October: Menorca started a series of matches with various clubs travelling as one group from Essex, Surrey and Sussex areas together with Grovelands Bowling Club from Enfield containing many county bowlers. The group was over 70 strong with about 40 of them county bowlers. The first match was of four rinks, with Menorca winning two, one loss and one draw. All of the visitors so far had praised the facilities and condition of the S'Algar green and had marvelled at the superb quality and fighting spirit of the Menorcan bowlers - high praise indeed from undoubtedly the highest class bowlers the club had yet encountered.

Watchet and Porlock Bowling Club from Somerset combined to provide our next visiting group. Travelling independently from the Personal Touch organisation these bowlers proved to be the most happy and sociable group we have had the pleasure of meeting. A group of 12 from Mallorca also joined us. Sunday 10th was rained off ( first time ever). The next day Menorca combined with P.T.H. against the new visitors, to inflict a whopping 60 shot win, mainly due again to the Menorca contingent showing no mercy. Tuesday 12th October was called off very early due to severe thunderstorms overnight and continuing during the morning. The bowling green could easily have been used for the kayacking facility featured at the hotel complex. The weather on Wednesday was no better in the morning, the green was still under water and bowling was impossible. Thursday 14th October had the Combined Counties group playing Watchet and Porlock in the morning, and thwey had an easy win.The Menorca Bowls Club once again had a tremendous record in the bowls matches in which they competed, remaining undefeated.
