Unmissable. The promotional vehicle should attract attention wherever it goes

"Warm at Heart" is the slogan that has been chosen for the Menorcan Roadshow which will tour Scotland and England from 28th February promoting the island.

A specially designed vehicle, currently being given the finishing touches in Galicia, will visit eleven cities in the space of fifteen days, stopping in areas frequented by large numbers of pedestrians, such as shopping malls and city centres. Decorated externally with images of Menorca the mobile promotional office will travel more than 1,000 kilometres in an attempt to lure tourists, old and new, to the island. The 13-metre long vehicle will be fitted with computers and an Internet connection so that would-be visitors can be shown the island's attractions.

The Councillor for Tourism, Lázaro Criado, explained that the campaign will show that Menorca "is much more than a place with lovely beaches" and that there is a wide choice of activities, such as horse riding, kayaking, cycling and hiking, on offer. He added that, although the island is well known to the family market in the U.K. he believes that it is also very suitable for young couples and holidaymakers seeking adventure.

Representatives from different areas of the tourist sector will travel with the bus to be on hand to deal with any queries arising and there will be facilities available for people to book their holidays on the spot.


Additional promotions will be run such as tastings of island products, crowd participation activities and daily draws for various prizes including a holiday for two in Menorca.


An article giving information on the campaign was published last week on TravelMole.com, a web site aimed at the travel and tourism industry.


The project will cost approximately 170,000 euros and, should it achieve the desired results, it will repeated in other countries in the future.
